Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday on Friday (I got tardiness issues)

I'm thankful for the friend that showed me the love this week (and made me cry).
And I'm thankful for the treat that made all this dental drama that I'm going through not so drama-rama-ish (until tomorrow when I'm sure that I'll have yet another tooth issue). Thank you for taking care of me!

Who ya gonna call?

As for the Lafittes---we are gonna call this guy when we need help with the dog pound.

Lydon is so lucky to get to work a veterinarian internship through the high school with the Ogden Animal Hospital. He's loving it! And it's just a couple of block's from Tim's fire station.
We so need Jr. Dr. Lydon's services since this little fella can't seem to keep himself out of the dog food (sneaky little devil).

Look at the gut on that dog!

The Dog Pound

Dear Timmy--

Your hair looks pretty tonight. Is that a new outfit?

So look----I was wondering---is there any way I can talk you into getting a second job? Cuz I spent the weekend working on a couple of crafting projects and I think I wanna go pro. So I'm going to need a little extra cash to support my new hobbies.

My first new love is this watch/jewelry/bead thing. It all started with the Woman's Fair when I made this watch
But I wasn't crazy about some of the beads so I deconstructed it, went to Michael's, fell in love with their bead isle, bought some replacement beads (and exhibited some mighty self control because I could have bought all the beads!) and restrung my watch.
Ta-Da!
And then I tried to make my own shoes. I found the idea on a crafting blog. You use modge-podge. Since the Wal-Marts are all out of sorts lately, I was able to buy some cheapy ballet flats for $4 each. And since the Wal-Marts are all out of sorts lately, I was able to buy some cheapy remnant fabric for 75 cents.

I was able to take this:and turn it into this:
Not the most fabulous craft project ever but it was still fun to try.

And to top of my crafty weekend I made a nice little fall porch decoration. Since I was already in Michael's, I took advantage of their sale on fake pumpkins (40% off). And since I was already in Wal-Mart, I took advantage of their sale on outdoor wicker baskets ($2 each). The rest of the stuff I had laying around.

Love it!
So Timmy, the weekend is right around the corner. I'm either going to need some therapy, and intervention or a hand full of cash.
Did I mention how much I love it when you wear those cargo shorts :)

How I spent September 11th

This past Friday I did something very spontaneous, very unlike me, very outside of my comfort zone. I bought myself a ticket to the "Just for Her Women's Fair" at Weber State. I went all by myself, I rode the shuttle bus, I went to some pretty fun workshops, I made friends with everyone that sat next to me and I totally surprised myself.

My first class was about gratitude with Sister Stephanie from Ogden Regional Hospital. Sister Stephanie is a sweet little lady that totally reminded me of my Grandma Ruth so much that it made me cry a little when she talked (she's even from North Dakota like Grandma Ruth).
I learned how to make lotion and bath salts.
I learned how to find my happy place.
I learned how to make meals on the go.I learned how to gather up my girlfriends.
I got to watch a bunch of make-overs (one was even a girl from Morgan)
I made this watch
and the best part was walking off with a bag full of goodies.

Busted by Buster

Thanks to my sweet little brother's big fat mouth at the courthouse the other day, he let everyone know that Tim and the kids didn't get me just a waffle iron for my birthday.

They also got me these super cute pair of heart covered pajama pants.

In case you didn't catch on from my birthday post.....this is Pancho's little brother, Tank, the fat puppy that was so cute that I "could have taken him home".

Thank you for being a friend

Thank you to my super sweet girly friends for not letting my pass into my fortieth birthday without the proper fanfare.

I was treated to dinner at Iggy's

Sweet treats from the new ice cream shop (if you haven't been there yet, you gotta go! What a cute place!)

Followed by the movie "500 Days of Summer".
Thank you to my bestest gal pals! They have been there with me from before my 24th birthday clear up to my 40th birthday. I love you girls!

Dear Steph

CUT ME SOME SLACK!
I had some oral surgery (my words, not Teresa's) and haven't been in my right mind (Teresa words, not mine) which means that I haven't felt up to blog posting lately.

I swear that I will get back to my right mind so that I can overwhelm you with charm, wit and lots of photos over the weekend (so that you can quit picking on me!) :)
