The 4th of July (via the 24th of July)

Better late than never, right? :) These super long posts just don't blog them selves ya know--

We had a super great 4th of July. We started off the festivities by occupying the kidses with a photo scavenger hunt while the grown-ups BBQ'ed and visited.
The kids split up into two teams. Each team got a camera and a list of summer related items that they had to go out and take photos of.Last item on the list......have someone take a picture of your teamAfter the hamburgers and hotdogs, the kids drew new teams, were given a stack of newspapers and a roll of masking tape and were told to dress-up an Uncle Sam.

And then it was on to a little arts-n-crafts. 4th of July t-shirts with glow in the dark paints.
This is Aaron's finished project. When you turn out the lights the stars glow.
The guys don't get off the hook so easy this year. First, they get to put on their prettiest shower cap, then the gals covered their heads with shaving cream.
The object of this game is to toss dot candies at your partner's shaving cream hair-do and get as many of them to stay put as possible.
And because they were all such good sports, they all got lil' squirt fire extinguishers
And last but not least----water balloon bobbing

Matching Outfits

You know how, back in high school, when you went to the girls dance you got to wear cute matching shirts?

Since Timmy and I didn't know each other back in the day, we got jipped out of that whole matching t-shirt experience. So to make up for it Tim brought the grown up version of the matching girls dance outfits--
My outfit:

And Timmy's new matching outfit:

How sweet is that? I'm just waiting for him to bring me a little tiara naming me the queen of our matching outfitted girls dance.

Yo--Grandpa Bob-- Tim says that he picked this truck because of this German flag on the back. Can you confirm? Is it the German flag? If it is I'm going to make him leave it there.

My baby loves me

What did I do to deserve this?!!?

Was it because I ate all my vegetables?

Was it because I took all our newspaper to the recycle bins?

Was it because I was trying to commit random acts of kindness?

Was it because I forgave someone who was mean to me?

Just what did I do to deserve this kind of treatment from Timmy?

I am the queen of bitch and moan

can i say bitch on the blog? oopsies! sorry--cover your eyes if I just committed a bloggin faux pas

Meet my new set of wheels.About a year ago, Timmy decided that it would be in my best interest to put me in a Honda Civic for the extensive one block commute that I have four days a week to the courthouse. It all sounded good in theory until you had to watch the horror show of shoving in and yanking out all six feet of me from that little weeble-wobble car. I don't know if many of you know this (it's kinda of a sensitive subject that I don't like to speak about) but I was born with a defect where every time I bend over, my underpants ride up and my blouse rides down and all my bad parts are exposed and this car seemed to amplify my problem.

After a frustrating year of 36 miles to the gallon, exposing my my backside to all my courthouse co-workers, tying my WalMart groceries to the roof of the car (cuz there was no room to put them in the car) and doing the ol' tuck and roll routine just to get out of the tin-can-death-trap, I had enough and took matters into my own hands.

In one afternoon, after a few telephone calls, a little bit of cash pried from Tim's hand and a little love from Uncle Boyd, I am now a proud card carrying member of the Jeep Cherokee family. AGAIN!!!

It's good to be back :)

Mooooooom...Buster won't quit picking on me!!

He's such a big dork!!!
He keeps picking on me because it's been, like, 32 whole days since, like, I've posted on my blog.
Big Whoop!
I've got a life too ya know! He obviously doesn't know what it's like to be a working mom with two teen aged kids who are home on summer vacation.
What a Goober!
If he wants to read a blog so badly, why doesn't he write one himself--see just how easy it is to be funny and charming and pretty and witty. Did I say pretty?
I think he owes us a dollar!
